PDP ASKS AMBODE TO DECLARE ASSETS, MAKE FASHOLA HANDOVER NOTES PUBLIC


The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has issued a 14 days ultimatum to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State to publicly declare his assets upon assuming office.
The party, which gave the governor till Monday, 29th June, also tasked the governor to make public in the media, the details of the handover notes and assets of his predecessor, Mr Raji Fashola.

Vice-President, Yemi Osinbajo on Saturday stated that corruption in Nigeria’s power sector by past administrations was responsible for epileptic power supply in the country.

Osinbajo lamented that despite billions of dollars invested in power generation and distribution over the years by the government, businesses and Nigerians still suffer.

UNPAID SALARIES: THE SITUATION IS BEYOND MY CONTROL, SAYS AREGBESOLA


Osun state governor, Rauf Aregbesola, on Friday said the situation in his state has gone beyond his control.

He however said plans are afoot to ameliorate the sufferings of civil servants in the state following the non payment of salaries for about seven months.

Emerging from a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, Mr. Aregbesola told journalists that the state’s economic fortunes plummeted following the fall in federal allocation to the state.

FG didn’t incur $60bn debt, Okonjo-Iweala refutes Osinbajo's claims


Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has refuted claims by VP-elect Yemi Osinbajo that the outgoing administration owes $60billion in local and foreign debts.

Speaking with finance correspondents, Okonjo-Iweala said that the nation’s current debt stock stands at $63.7 billion and it encompasses domestic and multilateral loans by all the federal and state governments since 1960. She said various states of the federation accounted for 20% of the nation’s total debt stock.
